Happy Growth Year!

Revenue Growth 2011Happy New Year! As the holiday season winds down, many of us will get back into business mode and embrace a new work year. New goals, new expectations, new customers, new suppliers.

During the holiday break, I found myself watching a good dose of college and professional football games and was intrigued by the consumer brand advertising. The most recurring ones were by wireless phone companies (Verizon, AT&T), luxury car manufacturers (Lexus, Acura) and insurance carriers (State Farm, Allstate, Geico, Progressive).  It’s a big revenue period for these companies as they look to close the year with a bang.

The one I liked the most was the Lexus campaign where the commentator says: “Let’s be honest… no one ever wished for a smaller holiday gift.” as the actors busily look for the biggest thing they can find to ornate the new car.

I thought about that in relation to what every company is thinking about the 2011 fiscal year. No one ever wishes for LESS revenue… or FEWER customers… or LOWER profits.

Quite the contrary.

It’s all about growth and driving more revenue with more customers and retaining more profits. That’s what we all wish for, much like those who get a new Lexus holiday gift (love the red bows as well).

So as you open your inbox, wade through the dozens of emails, and attend those recurring meetings on your calendar, we hope it’s the beginning of a 2011 year filled with growth and prosperity.
