Driving Profit This Winter

December 13th, 2010 by Darrin Poole

Well, here we are. Heading into the holidays and into the winter season. It’s interesting how we acknowledge seasons. Many companies close their year out in December and take the time to reflect back on the year then offer projections for their spring renewal. Something about winter makes you want to close ranks and look inward.

No clear picture on where the economy is headed. We do know that the recent election most likely means less stimulus and perhaps a smaller role for government. But, we also see unemployment far higher than the government predicted so it’s hard to say what companies will do.

With the year ending and employment down, we certainly expect the continuation of the “better efficiency” mantra. Companies will look inward to see what they can drive to the bottom line.

Technology can and will take a big lead here. Large companies have so many opportunities to improve efficiencies through better technology and smarter systems. The tremendous popularity and growth of collaboration solutions like Microsoft SharePoint and the new cloud computing have always had the attention of CIOs but now, these efficiency drivers are turning the heads of CFOs, Sales, Compliance and Legal.

Companies who choose to blossom next spring, will be looking for systems that manage their most important processes, including how they manage their customer and supplier contracts.

If you’d like a jump start into your best season ever, don’t miss out on powerful tools designed to make you more efficient by reducing your risk and giving you back your profits.
